But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offense of one may be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. Romans 5:15 KJV

Last week we saw that mankind has a universal problem called sin. The sin problem affects all men. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

This week I want to look at the solution to the universal problem. We see here in our text that the remedy for the problem is by one man, Jesus Christ. Grace is something given to us that we did not deserve. Jesus Christ was given as a ransom for sin.

Some diseases have more than one remedy, however the sin sickness of mankind can only be healed the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Man has tried his best to make his own remedy for sin. Some have tried water baptism, self reformation, good works, church membership and many other things.

These will never fix mankind's problem.

Man must repent of his sin and place his faith in the shed blood of Christ as a cleansing for sin. Dark is the stain that we cannot hide. What can avail to wash it away. Look! There is flowing a crimson tide. Today you can be whiter than snow. Where sin, the universal problem, did abound the remedy, grace did much more abound. Grace, Grace, greater than all our sin.
